  • Caleb D'Anvers,

Once again its evident here on PA most bloggers are radical minority vocalists

Minority vocalists! Kristin Hersh! Joanna Newsom! Alison Shaw! Awesome! Hang on. Isn't that what we're talking about here?

Why is it this blog seems habituated by left wing radicals out of sync with the rest of society in general ?

I'm in need of a few poorly thought out half baked clichés

...i recommend them dipped in fail and covered in weaksauce also

believe it or not some of us are so far ahead of the curve that i wonder if society will ever catch up

  • Steve Barnes,

believe it or not some of us are so far ahead of the curve that i wonder if society will ever catch up

Oh I dunno, Deborah Coddington seems to have caught up and as for us being a minority, PAS is one of the widest read blogs in NZ and the fact that we don't attract many rabid trolls is because opinions expressed around here are, actually, quite widely held. I would presume the opinions of the likes of Mr. Clive are the minority views.
We can read narrow minded bigotry and ignorance in "Your Views" in the Herald every day, it's called your views for a reason, it is the views of "Others".

OK, so you don't think particularly deeply about things.

fuck being deep and meaningful all the time, sometimes a nigga just wants to talk shit...

Why exactly do you comment on blog sights such as this then?

thing is, i think differently and posting in places like this i can gauge how much or not at all on a wide range of topics...

...anonymity affords the words to be taken at face value without the palsy tiptoeing around friends find uncomfortable in expressing or maybe it's like catholic confessional and besides using your real name is a bit like wanting your 15 minutes of fame as though our opinions really matter plus its not the hiphop cultural norm:)

...so if you got something to say then for fucks sake spit it out lest you choke on it and quit with the psycho jibber jabber

  • andrew clive,

Is this site just full of so called academics, socialists, idealists, eccentric gay uncles, expired record label managers, the great unwashed, people who claim to have a monopoly on intelligence etc ?

Calling Bob the Builder...Please come back to do some badly needed maintenance on this site..

Can anyone here wire up a 3 pin plug ? Fix a leaking tap?
The site seems to be composed entirely of idealists not realists.People who think they have a monopoly on intelligent debate.
    People with little practicality.

For the record , 87% voted no in the anti smacking referendum . Prior to this countless surveys were done which showed similar results.Yes i'm playing the referendum record again. Why shoot the messenger?
If an internal referendum on this site were conducted regarding the above issue, would there be anyone here have thought the government should listen to its people?Majority citizens . Anyone for democracy? No, didn't think so. If they are here they're to scared to say so for fear of losing so called credibility amongst the sites trendsetters .
Anyone with an alternative view is widely condemned on this site , just as i have been & no doubt will be again for expressing a contrary view. That's totally wrong for any blog site as diversity of opinion becomes shut down.

    For the record

Andrew, by all means express a reasoned position but that doesn't mean you get a free pass to make shit up

Democracy is not mob rule, and you're not being pilloried because you're right or because your views are "contrary". It's because they're plain stupid.

Therein sits the best argument ever on PAS. I stagger in the glow of your (self-proclaimed) realness, Andrew.

Now, most folks here are happy to engage in a bit of to and fro, but it's fucking hard to bounce back from that penetrating and definitive wham bam, innit...

you dont get jack fella. i have no idea who the *real* me is. the pseudonym protects the innocent til i find out.

Like I said up-thread, I have clear objectives. I am trying to encourage open discussion about childhood sexual abuse.

  • andrew clive,

Simon being holed up in SE Asia for 5 years hasn't helped. You're out of touch with NZ.It seems you only know NZ through PAS.

Sacha i have put forward a reasonable assertion that PAS bloggers are all pro anti smacking law, anti SST, pro Maori party with its separatist ideals, anti democratic . So far no one has posted here saying they disagree with those assertions. But you have posted saying you have a monopoly on intelligent debate...How can 87% of the voting public be mob rule? Let me turn it around , you want minority vocalists like yourself to run the country.A dictatorship.

Steven Crawford...Crack up , keep em coming.
