  • Robyn Gallagher,

Excuse me while I RSVP in lightning speed.

The line-up looks great, but I'm most excited about The L.E.D.s!!! They are officially my new favourite band, and I'm really looking forward to seeing them live.

It should be a good one.

  • Michael Fitzgerald,

I'm drinking my plunger hummingbird OOMPH! fair trade & organic coffee.
When I was up at Parihakain 06 a Timor Leste activist had a real bee in his bonnet about so called 'Fair Trade' coffee.
One trader for all the growers to sell to in timor and the rate was below subsistance and yet higher than the slave wages priviously paid, thus got labelled over here as 'Fair Trade' (Memory fades but 30cents/ kg?).
We've been spinning off about Air NZ actions, so what about our actions in supporting child labour and false advertising of 'Fair Trade'?

  • Russell Brown,

Oh, and just to clarify the Wellington date, it's Thursday the 30th. My mistype was there in the post (but not the RSVP pages) for half an hour.

  • Russell Brown,

Oh, and I've just confirmed the very cool Clare O'Leary for both the Auckland and Wellington panels. She's currently the strategic analyst at NZ On Air and has a background in film-making, digital content policy and work with the computer gaming industry. Some of us also remember her band.

Hey, me too. A very convenient location. I'm also excited that it's just around the corner from Galbraith's.

I've just been checking out Clare O'Leary's blog. She seems like a really good addition to the panel. I think it'll balance things well and make for an interesting discussion.

  • Neil Morrison,

Rats, I'll be out of town for a friend's birthday. I haven't been to any of these and was thinking of going this year.

Buggery ballocks... could you please schedule the next GB for an evening I don't have an unbreakable prior engagement. :) Hope there's going to be lots of lovely podcasts for us poor mortals - Mr. Brown sure gives good interview (though loyalty forces me to say PA Radio's effort was much better than Nine To Noon's. :) )

I've just confirmed that I'll be screening the excellent new mash-up from the creators of Starlords. Some of you might have seen an earlier version at Foo Camp, but don't give the game away ...

  • Ben Curran,

Looks mostly good. Mr Brown could be good, and am particularly looking forward to hearing Nat Torkington. given that he wrote what was for a year or so, my most used cookbook.

A little dismay at the inclusion of Cooper though. Have been talking with some ex-colleagues still toiling away in the heart of the BBC, the general response was the email equivalent of a groan. Primarily that he is touting his time at the BBC as a positive thing. sigh.

I don't know him, but Eric Kearley sounds interesting, it's a pity he doesn't appear to be in the panel discussion for Auckland.

  • Charles Mabbett,

With bells on! Mr Brown was excellent on Nine to Noon and Kathryn Ryan asked thoughtful questions. The interview lasted half an hour - surely the sign of an engaging chat. Also you would never have known that they were in different studios - Kathryn in Wellington and Kin Mun in Auckland. Well done for getting him on.

  • Russell Brown,

I think Mr Brown was fairly astonished when Judith Tizard asked to be introduced to him at the Banana conference launch and showered him with compliments. It is quite funny that he has to travel to New Zealand to get the time of day from a government minister.

  • Chockasunday,

Looking forward to the big event on Thursday ... the last few times I've been looking around for somewhere to pay my koha - I think this time I'll just shove some cash into Russell's hand!

Finally got my LEDS album from Smoke CDs - it's good stuff alright.

Did any of you football fans see the Wellington Phoenix play Melbourne on Sunday?
Fantastic game, great atmosphere at the ground, loads of singing. It's good to have something more exciting and passionate than rugby in the country.
