  • Hannah,

Hmm, it seems the Nielsen survey is monthly. Does that mean lurkers like me should aim to post one comment a month to keep your ranking up so high? :)

  • linger, in reply to tarlen,

after posting, edit the post and you can add another. Then edit again to add a third.

Does this process allow photos to be anchored to a specific point in a comment? Or do all attachments just fall to the bottom of the comment?

  • Russell Brown,

Righto. If you do feel moved to make a donation, that would be very welcome:

Russell, I think you should have a permanent “donate” button on the home page. I think a lot of people here would like to help with the upkeep. Doesn’t mean you can’t also have whip-rounds.

This guy shows some of the many options :o)

    (Edit: even better vid!)

I agree totally. Maybe even encourage small regular donations by AP (by a large number of people)?

PAS is on my list of regular people to pay bills to. Consider it done.

  • Russell Brown,

Thanks, guys. No one's in mortal peril, but through several different things happening in succession, I had a sudden allergic reaction to debt.

I will slap a Donate button on the home page and think about voluntary subscriptions (although I'd want there to be goodies for people who did that). And I think I'll have to consider our advertising options.

We get those for free! If I have to pay for photos of cats on the Internet!!!<explodes>

But seriously, I need to give some more thought to how Capture could contribute more.

In the mean time, happy to put a bit in when the opportunity arises. I spend more time here than I do down the local, so seems fair to drop a bit in the jar.

    Could we have a raffle?

How about social commentary on T-shirts, mouse pads, and coffee mugs as well? I’d definitely like to find a more local printery while I’m at it.

doesn't have the same ring to it. :)

Photo-cards a great idea. Easily ask each photographer to donate license. Vote to shortlist or pledge like Kickstarter to guarantee sales.

  • Hebe,

One of this site's USPs is the sheer bloody wonderful range of links to other music, and "cultural" sites on the internet that are posted by Russell, the writers and regulars. What about a sort of paid-for monthly or quarterly digest/round-up of the links. PA's Interweb Greatest Hits-type thingy. A lot of us would love to spend all day journeying the net but have limited time to do so, and when we're on that road we don't want to be taking trips up blind alleys (I will stop torturing that metaphor now).

And coming up in the next week or two … if you’re logged into the PA System, there will be a “last read post” button. Yes, you asked for it and you’ll get it … soon!

    Cool.

Some of us would gladly pay-per-cat. Maybe you could charge per cat post...... whoops, no, on second thoughts : )

No no, I think that’s a great plan. Might be the best fund raising idea of all time!
