  • Ian Dalziel,

Nice to see that the Chills play Chchch on Star Wars Day!

Shame no-one was rigorous checking the spelling of 'vigorous' for the tour slogan...

Aah, the intricacies of the English language still befuddle many Ian. Good then they didn't try to include Martin's 'challenging' spelling of his surname!

Am looking forward to catching this lineup not having seen the band Since early 90s though did catch Martins's great solo set in Chch for NZ Music Minth in 2015.

BTW, I must have been in another kaleidoscope world when that 80-odd recording Secret Box was released, completely missed it. Does anyone know of where I can track one down?

  • Hugh Wilson,

An entertaining, enjoyable interview between Gilles Peterson and David Rodigan went up last week, marking Rodigan's autobiography. Among other things they ruminate on how their kids wouldn't be seen dead at any of their shows (despite the fact they're world famous headliners!) and theres a great Augustus Pablo story towards the end. The passion & knowledge Rodigan has is impressive.

We got the news in the car driving home just as The Church's "Unguarded Moment" pops up on Spotify. Sure enough, at the 3 minute mark what do we hear but a perfectly executed Chuck Berry guitar rip. In some random Aussie 80s psych pop. He is forever with us. A titan.
