    Trich or treat?

being a serial fondler of non – consenting women’s hair?

I'm 'crowd-seeding' the meme of our Prime minister's regressive great ape genes, shown by his relentless alpha male silverback urge for constant 'grooming' - in both senses of the word, how else to explain his attempts to 'normalise' aberrant behaviours?

  • Alfie,

Moving this from the "Grown-ups" thread as it belongs firmly in Dirty Politics. nzlemming started it with...

Speaking of children in need parental supervision, is anyone tuned into this Ben Rachinger thing. Seems so very crazy.

I agree that it seems quite surreal.

Here's one blogger's summary of the story so far.

The extended version from the man himself.

  • Alfie,

Agreed Hilary. If you're looking for something light-hearted, check out Andrea Vance on Key meets Saudi Arabia's Prince Alwaleed bin Talal. It seems that our laughing stock PM didn't do much research before the meeting.

When the royal stopped for breath, Key made his pitch but it strangled the conversation again.

"You own Fox News, wow," Key wrongly asserted. Prince Alwaleed ran through his considerable investments (13 industries in 40 countries).

Again, Key saw his opportunity: "They had a Four Seasons in New Zealand?"

"No, there was a discussion at one time..."

Key interrupted: "In Queenstown, I think..No? But we want one."

The prince seemed to hint New Zealand needed a higher GDP per capita before it could have one of his five star hotels. Awkward.

..we’re stuck with a National embarrassment.

If it's any consolation, he's just as embarrassed about us. He used to work in Singapore and London - now he's stuck in some dump at the end of the world. He escapes to his condo in Hawaii at every opportunity so he can play golf with his American banker buddies - people on his level. Like Letterman, they mock his position as the head of some third-rate film set and he can only agree. If only Queenstown had a 5-star Four Seasons Hotel to go with the golf courses...

In that case, check out another Stuff story from Beck Eleven proclaiming Key as the Pffft Minister.

... (Bryan) Gould probably nails exactly why the PM is an expert in everything. It is because media treat the Prime Minister as "virtually their sole determinant of what is news".

  • Alfie,

The Ben Rachinger story gets weirder.

Statement on the matter of Mr Cameron Slater and payment for hacking for political purposes.

I, Ben Rachinger, was approached to hack “The Standard”, a Labour party affiliated blogsite, by Cameron Slater on behalf of his unnamed funder in February 2015. These parties offered me $5,000 to gain access to “The Standard” blogsite and to get the ‘Authors List’. I was also to leave a backdoor in the server so the parties could get access anytime they wished. The reasons for the ‘Authors List’ having such importance for the funder, as demonstrated in the communications prior to the actual discussion of money being exchanged for hacking, was to use the ‘Authors List’ in Parliament when the ‘House’ sat again first in 2015 to embarrass the Opposition and/or get resignations.

Extra bonuses above the $5,000 were offered for resignations and timing. It was not clear exactly what the monetary sum being offered for that was but there was mention of an additional $5,000.

Cameron Slater paid $1,000 as a down payment for the hacking from his company ‘Social Media Consulting’ directly into my bank account with the references being “Dark Lord”.

The post contains screen grabs of transfers totalling $14,500 from Slater to Rachinger's account.

The NZ Police asked me to come into the Manakau Police Station and make a recorded statement about the alleged conspiracy to hack ‘The Standard’. I consented to doing this interview on my own and without a lawyer present.

This interview took place over 2 hours with a few 5 minute breaks. I was asked repeatedly if I had done the hack, about my computing/network security skills and what had lead me to be in contact with Mr Slater.

I was sure to tell the Police that Slater had, in messages, talked about owning multiple firearms, meeting organized crime gang members regularly and had powerful backers/funders.

The decision to go to the Police and make a statement was prompted by my awareness I was in ‘Deep’ with very dangerous and angry people.

The Police took my devices, with my consent, for cloning. My devices, Smartphone/Tablet/Laptop were sent to the Dunedin Electronic Crime Laboratory for cloning. This process took a month. I then had my devices returned to me by the Detectives and asked additional questions about the evidence.

I have heard from the Police subsequently and it is my understanding the Police are very keen to interview Mr Slater about the evidence I have provided them.

I have been receiving death threats and have had family members called and have had them threatened.

    WTF?

  • Alfie,

Alastair Thompson has picked up this story on Scoop.

The story is a pot-boiling journalistic tale of a trip inside Dark Politics by a brave (some might say foolhardy) young hacker / journalist, a class of new entrants to the media scene who are having a big impact - and some of whom like Chelsea Manning & Barrett Brown who have found themselves martyred for their temerity.

  • Alfie,

David Fisher shows that the PM's numerous assertions that the Snowden documents were somehow "fabricated" is just one big untruth.

The Herald sought any information held by the Prime Minister which informed him or his office over the alleged "fabrication".

The Prime Minister's chief of staff Wayne Eagleson said "no information has been identified". He said the PM's office had to refuse the request because the "information requested does not exist or cannot be found".

Asked for the basis of the claim, a spokeswoman for the Prime Minister said: "Given these documents were stolen and these people have a track record of misrepresenting, misinterpreting and misunderstanding information, as shown in the Moment of Truth, we can't discount that some of what is being put forward may be fabricated."

Is it just me or did the PM's spokeswoman's nose just grow longer?
