  • Russell Brown,

One further note: the series completely ignores the All Blacks' 2017 northern hemisphere tour – presumably because they couldn't get footage rights – and skips straight to the World Rugby Awards.

  • Geoff Lealand,

Was rung up Morning Report last week, to give an opinion on this. Will have to watch it now. My hope is that it would give more exposure to rugby in North America, given the growth in professional rugby in the US.

I'll be interested to know your thoughts. The main reason I loathe most reality TV is that it hinges on generating the worst, most petty aspects of human nature. And while this uses the same format, it doesn't do that. This may not have been entirely intentional.

  • Grant McDougall,

Good to know that it's worth checking out, I was worried it'd be as bland and unedifying as that recent Richie McCaw hagiography.

  • Geoff Lealand,

I will do, once I get an opportunity (Netflix seems to have swallowed our TV). It sounds interesting and could be considered as a riposte to the local screen industry, given its long neglect of rugby as a source of interesting stories.
I will be interested in how Steve Hansen performs; he is not the most telegenic or articulate of blokes 🙄

  • Deep Blue,

Wasn’t it Fozzie and Hansen talking about switching wings ?
    Yes, nitpicking, I know.
I have to say I enjoyed the program for its entertaiment value

  • Geoff Lealand,

I have been able to watch the first three eps. Pretty good really, with Steve being surprisingly philosophical. There is some fun to be had if you watch it with subtitles, when they mangle some local lingo.
