  • noizyboy,

The funniest thing about the new Black Caps uniform is that they got Scott Styris to model it.

"Maybe people will think the uniform looks good in comparison"

  • Jackie Clark,

I have just read that The Saveloy will replace Veitch on TVNZ. My opinion on this? It could've been worse, much much worse.

I can't be doing with sport but I like Andrew Saville. Very personable man.

He seems like a nice enough guy (he had a joke fall very flat the other night which was a bit awkward though). But if he could only stop nodding when he talks.

And even with the nodding, Andrew Saville > Tony Vietch.

  • Richard Irvine,

This is going to turn into crappy uniform Friday, isn't it? Here's two football shockers from Celtic and Arsenal.

Here's one that's widely labelled sh*t, but I reckon is actually pretty classy - Coventry away (hope those links work - I have troule with the PAS code also).

And WHAT is going on at Canterbury, I reckon their designer should be drug tested, pronto.

Didja see TCGW pad out an item on pig racing with footage of Scott Styris bowling? Apparently revenge is a dish best served often.

That's a nice uni and what a ginger afro!

I have some questions though: Is that an Adidas logo on the left? And if so why are there only two stripes? And is the colour brown or black or some kind of maroon?

  • Paul Rowe,

Things aren't all bad, you could be a Partick Thistle fan.

Though that Black Caps strip is godawful.

  • LegBreak,

Sav showed himself up during the Olympic Games for pieces on consecutive nights complaining about Valerie Vili not giving interviews to the media a few days before her event. You know, because she said she’d rather concentrate on winning a gold medal. But Sav got surprisingly nasty about it.

So there’s a bullying streak there which, in the circumstances, is a bit ironic.

  • Yamis,

I'm not overly keen on Saville. He's a rugby commentator and brings that bias to the sports news. Not that I have anything against rugby (as it's my second favourite game in the entire world), but TVNZ has had a bit of an anti-league (Warriors) thing going on for quite a few years. Classic example was when the NRL had 2 players sent off in one round a while ago and TVNZ showed the two incidents and neglected to mention the scores, show any of the tries, or any highlights from any games from the round whatsoever.

Every time I see Saville read out a league story I just get a bit uncomfy.

And as Leg break points out, he does have a tendency to get a bit huffy and serious.

Anyway, probably no big deal for me since I tend to watch the 3News most nights. ;)

Paul that was mean! The Birmingham City 1992 strip may have burned out my retina!

Haydn - if it's not bad enough being a Brum City supporter, that takes the cake.

I recall an absolutely dreadful strip worn by Denmark or someone in the early 90s too...

And it looks like the 1992-93 Wolves strip has been signed by the under 15s team before the season.

Hadyn, that Covenrty kit is by Admiral - I think they're British, they do a load of football kits and the England cricket team until recently.

    And it's deep chocolate brown...
