Nice work Kabette I agree it is vital to see children taking part in their future.

  • Lilith __,

Gudrun, these are awesome (and heartbreaking) photos, thank you.
    (and Kebabette, and Joe!)
I particularly like the one of Eugenie Sage with the cabbage tree. :-)

Thanks Lilith. The situation is pretty grim for those wee ones when we think how much trauma they had to put up with in the past two years and have their schools being ripped from under them is just not on.

In the city; what remains of the Price Waterhouse building behind the early spring buds.
Who would have thought the tree would outlast that huge building? The way the trees have stayed while all the buildings around have crumbled fascinates me.

  • Joe Wylie, in reply to Hebe,

Great shot Hebe. On the night of the September 11 attacks, when I was living in Sydney, I dreamed that I was in my brother's Beckenham backyard. Through the branches of a tree I noticed an enormous high rise building somewhere in the distant direction of Brighton. As I was about to ask how long it had been there I noticed that smoke was pouring from the upper storeys.
Your image is spookily like that dream.

  • Hebe, in reply to Joe Wylie,

Bloody hell. I hope that is a positive for you! I happened to be passing through Latimer Square on a teenage taxi run and saw the shot so I stopped the car, took a fast few around there and went on my way.

I have resolved to carry the new camera everywhere to build snapping back into my daily life again, and to learn to use it, so I'm rapt to receive your praise.

Good on you. From those subtle subdued colours 'n tones you appear to be packing a gorgeous wee machine.

I’m in love with it; now I must learn to live up to the camera's possibilities. A piece in thursday's Press declared several times that photography is "all about light".

Well, yes, of course. But allow me to point you all in the direction of a friend and colleague who seems to have a particular talent for light. And nudes – nuffin NSFW anywhere civilised, but just so you know.
