wings my mind straight to this classic painting

had to do a big shift sideways to catch that connection! who knew that leaving your shears open had such meaning? I thought it just meant you might cut yourself, or damage your blades.

Trawling the archives – there is this – wraps up the wings, the scarlet, the blades, a barrier separating paying punters from all others, and the garden (winter). Also, potential for scaring the children with the strange mask.

This tree in my neighbour's garden is proving very popular with the waxeyes right now. They're clambering all over it like it's a giant candy floss.

    The Parson’s knows…

a tui with a song in his heart
    (and his best bow tie)

This image wings my mind straight to this classic painting,
    for some reason…*

Huh! Made me think of this one! Which is wintry but exuberant. :-)

Spring of a young photographer… Two photos my daughter took. Her aim is improving, still I cropped out a few people around the edges.

Perfect day. The spring moon is blue.

Haven’t seen much moon around here of late, either. Maybe a reddish spot through the clouds and smog. But we had a bit of a clearing breeze this afternoon (don’t worry, that’s the sun behind there)…

…leading to more failed attempts to capture the moon. I don’t have the equipment, lens with enough zoom or tripod or suitable stand-in, but I also certainly don’t have the skill. Much more practice needed. Still, with much fiddling I managed to rescue something. And in B&W.

This is last month's full moon. I don't have a long enough lens, but it's my best try yet. Rokinon 300mm mirror lens. (love Nora's moon shots above with the birds and trees, and I'll have to give the Grafton cycleway a try).

  • Nora Leggs, in reply to Angus McNaughton,

Thanks Angus : ) Are you sure you don't have a long enough lens, that looks like you've floated quite close by the old rock!
