  • ChrisW,

Seems like there might have been a few spring showers in Auckland? And you're expecting more, Jackson? Here's one I captured a few days ago from my current seat at home, with two weeping willows nicely out of synch in their responses to early spring.

Nice shots Jac, I'll have to chase down some nice new spring goodness to post on here!

In the meantime this is my favourite so far this spring

  • Geoff Lealand,

Well, the big old plum tree, which appeared to be in terminal decline, has thwarted my expectations of firewood for next winter and has put out blossom. It will only be a temporary reprieve if the fruit do not match the promise.

    Pictures soon.

Was pretty constant all morning, and still a bit wet out there.

    Couple more from the crop.

    Blossom tree, full of tui.

    Twisted tui.

    Jolly good Jackson : )

Just goes to show, spring isn’t determined by the calendar!

    Spring is….

The most beautiful rose in the world, normally not flowering till November
    Edibles
A new lemon tree, at last.

Anyone out there with experience growing dwarf peaches? How self-fertile is 'partly self-fertile'? Which is the tastiest dwarf peach?

One more of those lovely Mt Eden trees… I parked on Esplanade Road under these and when I came back my car was covered in blossom and bird poo.

Talking of birds, this dude (or lady dude) sings every morning and evening from the same tree in our front garden.

  • Carol Green,

Jackson, that pink photo is amazing. It could almost be an insect.

One more of the tui tree.

It could almost be an insect.

Cheers. That was the first comment M made when she saw it. Like spider's legs, or something.

Thanks for joining in. Great photos. I couldn't get the detail on the trees, or the bird. ;-)

Trying to get a macro on some lavender buds, when this interloper walked into shot. Couldn’t refocus fast enough.

    Ant that always the case?

    And another colour blur.

Blue borage horns macro'd. I have been trying to crop this for two weeks but cannot get the hang of Irfanview to make the crop stick. Having been struck envious of al the gorgeousnesses on the reflection and spring threads, I’m posting it anyway.

Ran over this in the driveway a couple of days ago. It came from a plant I found on the side of the road on Waiheke. It’s now in my garden.
I have another just showing itself in the garden not run over.
