  • Chris Waugh,

Wow. Getting even closer - those pictures posted to the Changsha Evening Post Weibo account are smog particulates magnified 1000 times.

    Open.

Oops. I wasn't actually trying to aim at the petals at the back. Oh well.

Not quite what I wanted, but it'll do. More practice...

If you cut me, I’ll just grow some other way. (I feel like something in here is in focus, I just can’t figure out what)

    Softness (with some smog-rain residue)

I was actually trying to find an old pair of glasses with corroded lenses that could've made for some interesting reflections and refractions.... Oh well. Found this.

Having collected some more feathers I played around shooting them with the 50mm + tubes and with a couple of flashes with different coloured gels on them.

    Wow, gorgeous feathers!
And Chris going great guns with spring things.

Still only close-ish... but a nice fat caterpillar having a feast on zinnia.

So I had a go at making it a little more seascapey. I think I wound up with moonscapey. Or perhaps alien world seascapey. Alieny, at least.

I thought perhaps the flyscreen might make for an interesting up-close early morning filter.

And again... just in time for the edit window.

    Yeah, that's impressive alright.

Tried to catch these feasting ants, but damn they move fast. Perhaps hand held was a bit ambitious.
