  • Richard Aston, in reply to Julie Cross,

I’ve walked through a hidden door in the street and discovered an ever so slightly random exhibition of photos that keeps growing matrix-like, and I’m wandering around overhearing fascinating conversations and brushing shoulders with gorgeous folk

    That's a lovely image Julie

  • Jackie Clark,

I have to say that today I am wearing red, and much of how I made the decision this morning revolves around how this thread has made me think a bit more about how much colour there is, out in the world, and how determinedly I stick to wearing black most times. And how utterly ridiculous it is that many of us go around wearing what would have been mourning garb many years ago. Piss on that. It's been a hard enough year for a great number of people. Time to get cheerful with the clothes!

For you book people .. Guardian obit of the much loved Russell Hoban.

For something nearly-photographic, YouTube yourself some Deadsy and the Sexo Chanjo and/or Door. Ok, Hoban didn't direct, but he did write and narrate. Feel him tasting those words.

    picters on the wind, indeed

I'll experiment with this shall I? If this works, it is a picture of my horse Tony after Christchurch's July snowfall.

It captures an unusual situation for him - usually nothing can distract him from food!

Loving everyone's pictures! It's as if I am traveling around the world.

    Haha very good! :D

No, not a Shetland, although he does a good imitation of one over winter. He's a trotter who didn't make the races. If they'd hung a carrot in front of his nose it could have been a different story!

One of the colours that is abundant in NZ (hey, if it didn't rain alot......) is, of course, green. Lots of different greens.

Figured this would stretch the ‘City Scenes/2011’ thread even further than spiders.

...very arch - though it does look a fossilised version of the old
College Hill Hydra Building Kiwi - with its beak buried in the sand....
perhaps an alternative ending for a cheapo New Zild version of
The Planet of the Apes er, maybe the the Quiet Earth of Apes
    or something, anyone? anyone?

Awesome, a genuine photo snap! Mine was taken around 1985, on the Demi C Half Frame mentioned earlier. How 'bout yours?
