  • Chris Waugh,

So Zhou Qiyuan of the Nanjing Daily has decided that, among sheep and old people, New Zealand has a lot of birds, which are well loved by the locals. Why on Earth she was so impressed by the sight of pigeons, gulls and sparrows in downtown Wellington, I don't know. Perhaps somebody should've pointed her in the direction of this thread? Nora's done a great job of making the pigeons and gulls actually beautiful, and there are so many more birds... Mt Eden's unusual visitor of the other day, for example.
