It's local body voting time again -- and, as ever, it's difficult to get a fix on all the names, who they are and what they stand for. So I'm pleased to see that the Generation Zero lobby group has actually questioned candidates on its key issues: the Congestion Free Network (GZ and Auckland Transport Blog's well-presented transport proposal), the Unitary Plan, urban cycling, and climate change. These aren't the full extent of my interests, but I am interested in all of them.
The results will be announced at a press conference on Wednesday, and I'm inclined to wait for that before filling out my forms.

So far, all I can say is that I'll be voting for Cathy Casey for Council -- on the basis that while I don't actually agree with her all the time, a council does need a Cathy Casey -- and that in the glorious STV lottery that is the Auckland District Health Board vote, I'm inclined to give Alasdair Thompson (yes, that Alasdair Thompson) a high-ish ranking.
Update: Ah. Generation Zero are doing the same thing in Hamilton, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.
